Benedict ~

COLORS: Yellow and Brown with orange; SYMBOL: Dandelion.

He is well known in the Family as an unsurpassed weapons master and general. Most of his siblings regard him as solitary, dour, and serious with a quick, hot temper. The people who serve him know him a little (very little) better. He has rarely been in Amber, since well before Corwin disappeared. His estates in the foothills was log ago converted into a training compound for his hand picked elite. He is not easy to get word to directly. He was one of Martins primary tutors. There is rumor that he is the grandfather of Dara and therefore great grandfather to Merlin.

Bleys ~

COLORS: Red, Gold, with yellow; SYMBOL: Gold Chalice.

He is known in the Family as a superb warrior and occasional mystic. He is always smiling, laughs often, and usually converses in a friendly and personal manner. He has always enjoyed living in Amber and maintains a large manor in the City. Most in Amber know him as a socialite/sophisticate. It is usually easy to find him, or someone who can direct one to him. He, Brand, and Fiona were in a conspiracy for the thrown. He and Fiona imprisoned Brand, being against any pact with Chaos. He and Corwin also attempted taking Amber from Eric. He is rumored to have studied under Dworkin.

Brand ~

DEAD; COLORS: Gold and Green; SYMBOL: Gold Phoenix.

Always known to be moody and erratic. Reputed as a superb conversationalist. Believed to have gone mad. He is one of the few people known to have ever drawn a Trump--He attacked Martin via said Trump. He, Bleys, and Fiona conspired for the Thrown, they turned on him. Made pact with Chaos. Shot by Caine and fell into the Abyss, while clutching Dierdre and the Jewel of Judgment.

Caine ~

COLORS: Green with black; SYMBOL: black daggers crossed on green field Occasionally with a White unicorns head above).

He is known in the Family for ruthlessness. Quiet with a mouth that curls to give the impression of a permanent smile. He has always served the Thrown, usually being assigned Oberon's (and more so Eric's) more unpleasant tasks (privateering being among the more pleasant examples). He has always seemed to spend most of his time in Shadow, though not far from Amber. If in Amber for more than a day he stays at the Castle. Only a few in Amber regard him as a friend: Julian, Ian, Lord Fitzgin and perhaps a hand full of others. Often difficult to locate, always easy to leave messages for. He supported Eric. Killed his own Shadow to move about undetected. Shot Brand into the Abyss. It is rumored that he has a special affinity with the Trump.

Corwin ~

COLORS: Silver and Black; SYMBOL: Silver Rose.

He is well known in the Family for an undaunting will and as a warrior and a bard. His endurance and recuperative powers are legendary. Do to his self imposed exile to Avalon, his disappearance from Amber at Eric's hands hundreds of years ago, his blinding and yearly public humiliation, and his trials with the Black Road; he hasn't hung around Amber much. His rooms and tomb are left alone, by Amber's staff, per his wishes. Acknowledged father of Merlin. Initiated Random to the Jewel of Judgment. Rumored to have drawn his own Pattern. He is rumored to have had feelings for Dierdre. It is not known what became of his guns. Recntly returned to his bothers and sisters care, in a deranged state, by Ian and Morgan.

Dara ~

COLORS: unknown; SYMBOL: uncertain (suspected the Serpent of Chaos).

Self proclaimed granddaughter of Benedict (he has not publicaly confirmedand, or denied) and enemy of Amber. Mother of Merlin. She has spent time with Martin, Corwin, Oberon, and Benedict. After walking the Pattern she vowed Amber's distraction. She held a high place in Chaos' forces during the Final Battle.

Deirdre ~

DEAD; COLORS: Black and Silver; SYMBOL: Silver (rain/tear) drop.

Lauded as the best at warcraft amongst the sisters, she was also a capable sorceress. She loved Amber and its people with a robust nature. Several songs of debauchery are attributed to her actions. She was pulled into the Abyss by Brands death grip. Her tomb is kept in better condition than Corwin's.

Dworkin ~

COLORS: Unknown; SYMBOL: unknown.

He is rumored to be Oberon's father. He is well known in the Family as the Trump Master and Grand Sorcerer, Oberon's Advisor and teacher, gone mad and locked away. He is one of the few people known to have ever drawn a Trump. He is often acredited with inscribing the Pattern. It is also rumored that Oberon locked him away to keep him from destroying the Pattern, that he trained Brand and drove Brand mad, plus more . . .His where abouts are unknown, though it is said that his cell lies next to the Primal Pattern.

Eric ~

DEAD; COLORS: Red and Black; SYMBOL: Red sword.

He was Arrogant and acted superior even by the Families standards, but he was able to back it. The stories are that he truly believed he was doing what was best for Amber. He is the only Amberite to successfully TAKE the thrown (with the exception of Oberon). He died on Kolvir, at the turning point for Amber, as Corwin entered with working guns. He was wielding the Jewel of Judgment at the time. He was laid to rest in the catacombs beneath Kolvir. It is rumored that his wounds were not of a fatal nature.

Findo ~

DEAD; COLORS: Unknown; SYMBOL: Unknown.

Very little is known, remembered, or (especially) spoken of him. He and Osric were Benedict's older brothers. He died early in Ambers history, fighting beside Oberon to tame the then barbaric nearby Shadows.

Fiona ~

COLORS: Green and Blue, with silver; SYMBOL: Peacock.

In the Family she is known as a consummate diplomat and game player. She is always at her regal best and has never in living memory lost her cool. She is always willing to talk (however briefly) with people. She has always been a regular fixture at court (less so during Eric's reign) and keeps large apartments in the Castle. Easier to let her appear, than to find her. She, Brand, and Bleys were in a conspiracy for the thrown. She and Bleys imprisoned Brand, being against any pact with Chaos. She is rumored to have studied under Dworkin. She is often regarded as a superior authority regarding the Pattern.

Florimel ~

AKA: Flora; COLORS: Blue, Yellow, and White; SYMBOL: Forget-me-not (flower).

She is known in the Family as a follower of power. She is often overlooked by her siblings. Quiet and mousy, she is not often at court. She has a large manor in Amber's countryside. She's always pleased to talk with most of the Family. She has bread a kennel of wolfhounds to aide her through places such as Arden. She has recently constructed an aviary ajoining her manor. She is usually easy to contact. She is Armond's mother. She served Eric.

Gerard ~

COLORS: Blue and Silver; SYMBOL: Silver horn on a blue field.

He is well known in the Family for unmatchable strength, slow thought, gentke kindness, and direct honesty. Calm, contemplative, and loyal to Amber and the Family, once he is set very little can change his course. He is slow to anger. When not on Amber's Flagship "the Rilga", he stays at the castle. As Regent, turned Steward, he hasn't been away from the castle much. He never seems so busy that he can't stop to hear good news from a family member. He has vowed repeatedly to keep the peace (both in Amber and the Family) and has had to remind people of this from time to time (they don't forget often). He is Ian's Father (Alis' Father in law, of course).

Julian ~

COLORS: White with occasional green; SYMBOL: Tree white trunked w/ green bows on green hill w/white ski.

He is known in the Family as a relentless hunter and master of beasts and the wood. Slow spoken (almost a drawl), rarely more than civil, he prefers the company in Arden over the City, or the Castle. His meager rooms in the Castle are rarely used. Until recently he didn't seem to keep any permanent camp in Arden. Now he lives in a large chatue with his wife and daughter. Contacting him is easy by either leaving a note on a tree, or just waiting in Arden (he has been known to prolong the waiting process). He has fewer known friends than Caine, including: Caine, Ian, and Morganstern. Few people have seen him out of his armor and then only briefly. He is Auric and Jenna's father and Marium's (jenna's mom) husband. He has always guarded Amber's boarders in Arden. He supported Eric. He doesn't like Corwin. He is rumored to have feelings for Fiona (Marium may be a Shadow of Fiona). When he returned from the War his hair was brite white, it gradually darkend back to its natural color.

Llewella ~

COLORS: Blue and White; SYMBOL: White unicorn rampant (facing Dexter) on Blue field.

She is known in the Family as an outsider and watcher. She rarely allows herself to be involved in Amber's, or the Family's, affairs. Although she seems more inclined towards most of the younger Family members. She resides in Rebma's Castle, were she has been known to act as regent (on brief occasions). She has recently been appointed Steward of Rebma. She's easy to find and usually seems to listen. Her weaving and embroidery is exquisite. She is Moiré's half sister. She acts as a second mother to Morgan.

Martin ~

COLORS: Purple and Green with silver; SYMBOL: Violet (flower).

He is known in the Family as nervous, self conscious, and cautious. Slightly stand offish and unlikely to initiate conversation. He has a large home in Rebma, rooms in Rebma and Amber Castles, but spends most of his time in Shadow. He may be the hardest Amberite to find/contact, when he puts his mind to it. Trumps of him are very rare. He is the son of Random and Morganthe. He was a primary commander in Rebma's defense during the War. He was trained by Benedict after Walking Rebma's Pattern. He was stabbed by Brand through a Trump contact. He is rumored to have spent time in Chaos before the War, as well as spending time with Dara and Merlin.

Merlin ~

COLORS: Silver and Black with Red; SYMBOL: Circle of Silver Thorns on black field

Little is known of him. He is one of the only people reputed to have ever drawn a Trump (based on Martin's and later Ian and Morgan's claims). He was raised in the Courts of Chaos as a Lord. He is the son of Corwin and Dara. He supposedly never went far from the courts, until after the War. He was in Corwin's patterns realms and may be there now.

Oberon ~

DEAD; COLORS: White, Green, and gold; SYMBOL: Amber's unicorn

He is remembered in the Family as a stern, demanding, and complete authority figure. None would directly challeng him. He often showed glimpses of powers none of his children could figure out. Long thought dead he returned to amber long enough to repair the Pattern. He died with the effort and was interred to the Abyss.

Osric ~

DEAD; COLORS: Unknown; SYMBOL: Unknown.

Very little is known, remembered, or (especially) spoken of him. He and Findo were Benedict's older brothers. He died early in Ambers history, fighting beside Oberon to tame the then barbaric nearby Shadows.

Random ~

COLORS: Orange, Brown, Yellow, and Red; SYMBOL: Gold coin flipping.

He was known in the Family as a prankster and playboy. Since his marriage the playboy traits have disapeared. Easy going and cautious. He spent little of his life in Amber. During the latter part of Eric's reign, he took to living in the Castle with Vialle. On the few occasions people have sought him out, he has been findable. Martin is his son by Morganthe. Vialle is curently his wife. He supported/aided Corwin. He tried to kill Eric when Corwin failed. He was chosen by the Unicorn to hold back the Primal storm and rule afterward. He was last seen with the Jewel of Judgment in the Courts of Chaos.
